BTC PoW Lab: a hybrid solo pool with a research lab behind it

A pool is more than its headline fee

Choosing a pool means choosing how to share uncertainty. BTC PoW Lab takes a hybrid solo approach: finding a block remains the central event, while other eligible participants can also receive a Community Reward. That makes the full allocation rule more useful than looking at the operator fee alone.

Understanding 85 / 10 / 5

The model assigns 85% to the block finder, 10% to eligible community participants and 5% to the Lab. The finder does not also receive a Community Reward from the same block. Community allocation uses mining tiers, with accepted work determining each participant's proportional share within a tier. The distribution between tiers deliberately gives smaller scales additional weight.

This is not a fixed payment for every submitted share. Rewards depend on a valid block, eligibility and the published accounting rules. Dashboard projections describe a possible allocation; they are not an available wallet balance or a guarantee of future income. A miner comparing this with FPPS or conventional solo should consider variability as well as fees.

What the Lab allocation supports

The 5% Lab allocation also funds bonuses, infrastructure, operations and research. Running the service involves ongoing spending and investment. Bonuses funded from that allocation should not be confused with an extra guaranteed percentage for every miner.

Alongside the pool, BTC PoW Lab continuously investigates possible improvements across the mining process, from work preparation and delivery to what compatible hardware can actually execute. The useful question is whether a proposed improvement survives an end-to-end test under realistic conditions.

Research results do not automatically become advantages for every connected miner. Compatibility, implementation costs and reproducible measurements matter. A proposed technique or an offline result should be read in that context, not as a promise of higher earnings.

What to check before connecting

Read the current reward rules and connection instructions, compare the pool's model with your own tolerance for variance, and check how accepted work and estimated hashrate are displayed. If you try the service, practical feedback about setup, clarity and missing information is useful.
